Momma's garden

Would've uploaded this last week but my mother sent it to the framing store before I had a chance to scan it in. Had to borrow my brother's digital camera because my got stolen back in LA.

Have some other stuff I won't be able to finnish till I get back home of Tuesday.

Just one more week before I know if I'm going to PIXAR for the summer: oh the suspense!

Tales from the farm

Work was slow, so I figured while I waited for the results from the Pixar internship I'd visit my folks. Aside from doing some cow-related work, I thought I'd brush up my waterpaintings. Sadly, the best one I did was taken in for framing (it was a mothers day gift) before I had a chance to scan it in. I suppose I can take a photo of it when my mother gets it home.

Meanwhile, here's Hoshi, the narrator for "The Obi Bandits". She's a Kyoto tour guide who tells some western tourists the story of the greatest heist of 18th century japan.

And here's an afternoon quick painting of one of the local rivers, you forget how beautiful this place is when you're gone. Hopefully I did it partial justice.

Sure was sad what happened in China. My cousins are teaching english there, but luckily they weren't in the same area. No less tragic for that, of course.

Geisha walk

A Geisha walk test. If I ever got to do the project, I don't think I'd want to do it in Flash, but I must admit it suited the very restrictive walk. I dabbled with other Geisha girls, but so far I can't determine a way to vary their walks; I can't help but think its one of those rare situations where giving a lineup of characters identical walks is most appropriate.

And heres the most heroic character in Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" book. A librarian in a magic library gets turned into an orangutan, but declined any well-meaning attempts to change him back.

I've been rejecting lots of watercolors, but I think it turned out well in this simple painting. It looks a lot better if you layers the seperate colors directly on the painting, rather the pre-mixing. And if you can get it with as few separate colors as possible, the chances of it getting too muddy. I did a more ambitious watercolor today, but didn't turn out so well.

Doing some drawn walks too, which aren't done yet, with my old EMH characters. Once I do them I thought I'd then do some interaction animation. Might as well while I wait for work to pick up
